It sounds like a great news for all of the Wordpress users and pro-bloggers out there. Wordpress 2.9 is out now and is available for download. The release is called “Carmen” after the great Jazz vocalist Carmen McRae.
Matt Mullenwag wrote on the Wordpress Blog on behalf of the whole Wordpress theme that Wordpress 2.9 is immediately available to download. This release addresses about 500 issues, bugs and enhancements out of which some of the exciting new features and functionality added in WP 2.9 are:
- Global Undo / Trash Feature
- Built-in Image Editor
- Easier Video Embeds
- Plugin Compatibility Checking & Batch Plugin Update
This release included code from over 140 contributors from around the world. After the release of Carmen WordPress 2.9, everyone would be waiting for Wordpress 3.0 as it is expected the the core wordpress will be merged with MU functionality, which is definitely going to excite all the WP loyalists out there! To download Wordpress 2.9 upgrade it from your WP installation or follow the link below:
